shadow and light give form to form
sun and rain give life to all on earth
every sky of blue to every shift of color hue
fills my heart with joy and pure delight

i am ever grateful for everything i have
and everything i don't have that i don't need
when my searching eyes
landed on your offered love
it opened up a hidden inner seed

i see you
as the first light beauty of the morning dawn
and i feel you
as the shiver of the aspen leaves
i know you
as the deep rich colors of the rocks and plants
and i love you
as the sound of my own breath

you've been watching me
thru the green eyes of a wild cat
and thru the broad wide wings
of the owl's flight at night
in that silent darkness
when i'm looking out at the moon and stars
i imagine how you give that heaven light

there's beauty in the city streets
there's beauty in the sand
in the trucks that carry things from town to town
don't want to make a judgment
about left or right or up or down
that thinking lays these wings upon the ground
